Are you up for the challenge?
The Fund has been running and winning grassroots campaigns for more than 25 years. We’ve signed up 400,000 members for Environment America and U.S. PIRG. We’ve expanded the Human Rights Campaign's grassroots base into places like Texas, Ohio and Georgia. We've raised over $500 million for these groups to win their campaigns. And that’s just the start.
As a Citizen Outreach Director or Assistant Director, you’ll recruit, train and lead a staff of 10-40 canvassers. You and your staff will go out into communities to build support for critical campaigns, raise money, mobilize support and recruit members for some of the nation's top progressive organizations. You’ll manage your staff, plan your campaign work, handle the administrative details, and learn how to do everything it takes to run a successful grassroots campaign office.
"One of my favorite things about directing a campaign office is the impact I have on the staff in my office. A lot of campaign staff initially have no experience with activism and throughout their time in the office they develop strong political views and aspirations to have an even bigger impact on the issues they care about. Helping people develop into activists affirms to me that our overall impact will last beyond any one person’s time working with us or any one campaign."
-Sam Wilson-Moses, Citizen Outreach Director, Portland, OR
"I'm so proud of myself when I look back and see what I've accomplished as a director. I can raise support financially for progressive groups, teach new activists to be killer fundraisers, run a press conference and I learned how to do all of this in my first year of directing. I know I'm having an impact and I feel like I'm in the center of it all!”
-Carol Ann Pedersen, Citizen Outreach Director, New Brunswick, NJ
